System requirements

Generally the higher education package has the same system requirements as TYPO3 itself. Please have a look at https://docs.typo3.org/m/typo3/tutorial-getting-started/11.5/en-us/SystemRequirements/Index.html#system-requirements.

Solr

If you want to use the solr search engine, you will have to set up a solr server (see also https://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/extensions/solr/Solr/Index.html).

Indexing files with ke_search

If you want to use ke_search for indexing of PDF or Microsoft Office files, you will have to have additional software on your server:

• pdftotext and pdfinfo for PDF files

• catdoc, cattppt and xls2csv for Microsoft Office files

LDAP support

The PHP extension “php-ldap” has to be installed on your server in order to use the extension “ig_ldap_sso_auth”
